water tank & hand washing station project in Nepal (2020 Xmas project)
why a water tank?
Water scarcity is a challenge the Nepalese face on a daily basis. Especially during winter, the dry season, water becomes even harder to come by. As you can imagine, a lack of water impacts basic activities like cooking, cleaning and farming. The global pandemic of COVID-19 has exacerbated this problem, as frequent handwashing is a difficult task with a limited water supply.
about the project
To help remedy this burdensome situation, the Empower Nepal Foundation has initiated a project to build a water holding tank and adjoining pipes for the Sree Himalaya School in Gorje, Nepal. With the foundation, we are working to build a 20 cubic meter (5,000 gallon) holding tank, serving 350 students and 24 teachers at the Sree Himalaya School. This water tank will provide a constant water supply to these students, teachers and the surrounding community in Gorje, Nepal.
how it works
To support the fundraising for this project, we created a special Christmas gift package. Part of the revenue from this gift package goes automatically to the realization of this project.
